Conflict Management with LEGO®SERIOUS PLAY®

the challenge
The client sought to enhance communications between departments and disciplines. The goal of the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® workshop was to facilitate conflict management, help colleagues understand each other's contributions and work with an innovative way of communication: LEGO® bricks and models.
the process
The workshop consisted of three main parts. First, during a skills building session we introduced the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method. Next we built individual models representing our strengths and weaknesses in our everyday work and then created shared models in teams. In the final part we recorded conflict scenarios together. The participants then built models of those scenarios and shared their approaches to resolving them.

the outcome
We learnt how to exercise empathy towards different interpretations by learning to use dynamic approaches in solving problems. We also came to a clear understanding of conflict scenarios and by facilitating a deep and through conversations about on strengths, weakness and conflicts as a team, we opened the way to a solution-oriented dialogue.
